Payment break during maternity/paternity leave
When the family grows, there is much to consider, especially when it comes to finances. To support our borrowers during this special time, we offer a payment break to help families better enjoy their maternity/paternity leave.
To apply for a payment break due to maternity/paternity leave, you’ll need to provide proof of your leave. This can be done by attaching a payment statement from the Maternity/Paternity Leave Fund.
Additionally, the application must include a copy of the most recent tax return and withholding tax records, both of which can be accessed through Iceland Revenue’s online service portal.
- A payment break can last between 3 and12 months.
- It is important to keep in mind that the payment burden increases once the loan resumes in full.
